in my local area one chain had several stores hit $4.00/gallon

I used to get gas there 2-3 times a week. I will never buy gas (or anything else) from there again.

Once it got around that gas prices were skyrocketing (rumors caused by this chain of convenience stores) there was a general run on every gas station in town...

Today I bought gas at another station for $1.65/gallon. I feel sorry for the fools who paid $4.00. Panic makes people do things without reason.
