This just in from my sister at Nationwide (that's where she works):
===================================
Per a conversation with Anthony Pacella (Columbus Postmaster) and Kathy Chenkovich(Mgr, Business Mail Entry) this afternoon, the FAA has lifted the flight band however the USPS will not immediately resume the use commercial airlines for transporting mail. The USPS has repossessed all mail from the airlines and it will be shipped via ground until further notice. It was stated that air transportation is contingent on further security measures being conducted by airport security and government agencies.
In the ground transportation contingency plan they are using now, Columbus City Gate is a hub. Mail from Akron and Dayton is being brought to Columbus for ditrbution. Priority and USPS express mail will be shipped from Rickenbacker, however these flights have not resumed as of yet.
Mail being sent or received to destinations within 500 miles of Columbus are being handled within normal standards. Mail outside of this radius will be delayed.
