Hey, folks...
First - thanks, especially Steve but all y'all, for your concern. (Thanks also to Mary Anne for pinch-hitting).
Second - I was safe at home in Central PA; not flying, not visiting NYC or Alexandria, and the crash site in Somerset County is at least an hour away by car.
I was up late Monday night, and slept until 11:30 Tuesday morning - turned on the radio as soon as I was up, and NPR News was still on instead of classical music... in my dazed condition, it took me a while to piece together what had happened. About the same time, my next-door neighbors (who know I don't have a TV) invited me to watch with them. I had a pre-arranged time to talk to someone online at 1, so I waited until after that to stare at the footage on CNN.
Since then, my work schedule has been such that I haven't been able to get to a 'puter until tonight. And, still not able to comment on events, except for this:
Tonight around seven, I happened to be outside, and saw two jet contrails. Never applied as much significance to them before as those, tonight.

Concern noted and *VERY* appreciated!
