Re: Nuclear strikes

My two cents worth:

If Bin Laden was killed, I would say that most of America and SOME of it's allies would breathe a sigh of relief. I would also say that the controlled press would exhort the "virtues" of the nuclear strikes, and we would read headlines saying "VICTORY!"

If Bin Laden, were not killed, or could not be identified , because nuclear remains leave little trails for DNA or other forms of identification; I'd say that most people would realize we were on the fast track to a nuclear Hell, and that Armageddon would be just around the corner.

I can't see how anyone could support a nuclear strike.
No, that's not the answer.

Wouldn't that be like a Janet Reno decision to blow apart the Waco compound in a show of strength (killing innocent women and children) just because David Koresh wouldn't give himself up?

I'm not so sure more killing (revenge) would be the answer. And I think we need to step back and decide carefully how we can punish those responsible through diplomacy. THEN, if no solutions present themselves, we can take some other action. The problems in the Middle East affect everyone world-wide. We have to be careful not to start a nuclear war that will ravage the world and have dire consequences for everyone left in it.

However, I think people are willing to participate in Armageddon. At least some of our leaders may see it that way.
