I'm less than social being an engineer type, but I have noticed a much more open sense of community since we went 911 Tuesday. Friday night at a restaurant they passed out candles and we all went outside for the candelight ceremony. Ended up making great friends with another couple at the restaurant.

Today we had a discussion with an AA Flight attendant working at the Westin hotel in suburban Waltham off RT128. Lost friends on FLT 11. Worried that she'll be laid off.

Just some of lots of situations where prior strangers are meeting & talking more than usual. Even here in staid NE! :)
