Excellent post. I'm afraid you are 100 percent correct about how this war will have to be waged. I hope in an age where the average American wants to see solutions in half an hour (minus commercials), we can sustain such an effort politically.
We may have to combine the "real" guerrilla war with "show" attacks involving bombing power plants and suspected terrorist bases and such. The real work will be done by the former, while the latter, while not being useless, will keep the political momentum going. Cynical, maybe, but probably accurate.
