A note from some old freinds

Many of those who have been here for a while will recognize the name.
I recieved this from a anonymous source, but since I know the name and the custom of these people I can vouch for it.
As I said before, we are no longer Native Americans, African Americans or any other hyphenated Americans.

We are all Americans. Richard.

From the Mens and Womans Combined Council

A Message for any who would hear our poor words,

And for those who believe we can be
broken by simple assault.

No matter how grievious.

We suffered mightily in the wars upon us during the late 1800's.
Many died, others were broken in spirit, which is worse than death.
While in may ways still suffering from the lasting effects of the past,
we know that in any other counrty on earth our lot would be much worse.

We are now part of this nation, a nation that has been stricken
by the worst of attacks. .
An attack of such proportions it borders on indescribable.
An attack of stealth upon those who sought not
battle, but were living their lives innocently.
Going about their daily lives, unprepared for what befell them.

So many take their spirit walk before their time.
So many fatherless and motherless children.
So many mothers and fathers with no child to hold.
So many brave men and women went into fire and
destruction.
Who did not run.
Staying in the midst of destruction, not shirking their sworn duty.
And paid the ultimate price, their names shall never be forgotten.

Now once more this country calls for those who would
be warriors, to defend once again freedom and liberty.
And we shall respond as before.
Our Warriors now wear uniforms
of many services.
But inside they still wear the Hasitan'che and colors of their ancestors.
Their hands are filled with modern weapons.
But their hearts carry the Lance and Shield.

Once more there shall be weeping in the camps as
women, and men, learn their beloved has fallen with honor in
Battle.
I know these tears, for my husband is now among the honored of
those who gave in the past.

But our warriors go forth nonetheless, for we know what is required in this time.
We know the price that must be paid.
It is an old debt that has it's next installment due.
Our young men and women travel the many miles to the recruiting office
once more.

And some will not return, this we know.

For they go into harms way that we
may be safe, and keep the freedoms and liberties
that this country has given us.

This act that struck at the whole of us from the great darkness
where evil resides.

Shall not go unanswered.
