I guess the author never considered just who would ever support a tyrannical thought police that carries out summary punishments and enforces dress and hair codes.
The ol' "different paths for different people" with its strong racist undertone, implying that the poor brown/black/whatever would never want a society where law, property and econmic opportunity were available for the effort of getting them.
I think Afghanistan will have an oppportunity to make its own decision without condescending liberals, very soon.
