Interpol issued an arrest warrant Tuesday for Egyptian-born surgeon Ayman al Zawahri, reported to be Osama bin Laden's deputy, the international police organization said in a statement.
Interpol said Zawahri, born in Giza in 1951, was the leader of al Jihad, a militant group based in Egypt, and has emerged as one of the key figures in bin Laden's al Qaeda network, blamed by the United States for orchestrating this month's devastating air strikes on New York and Washington.
