There are some disturbing signs that Powell seems to favor a very weak and limited response to the terrorist attacks. Perhaps not even removing the Taliban from power. Perhaps not following up on a possible Iraqi connection. Somebody please remind him that doing everything necessary to protect American lives and dissuade future terrorist attacks is more important than building intricate , delicately balanced international coalitions. If we can't get everybody and his brother on board for necessary military action, then so be it.

I sincerely hope Bush and Cheney are firmly in control of this war, and are giving orders to a very capable Sec. of State Powell, not just taking all his advice and letting him make most of the decisions.
