Not because I didn't believe our Special Forces troops were already in Afghansistan, but because I didn't want any government officials admitting it. In WWII, they used to say "Loose lips sink ships." While the news wasn't at all surprising, Special Forces troops would prefer that no one knows they're there.

Old military cartoon:
1st frame: Poor wet grunt standing in the rain saying "This sucks." (Been there, done that).

2nd frame: Army Ranger sneaking through the rain, liking how the rain masks his sounds and reduces visibility saying "I LIKE the way this sucks!"

3rd frame: Green Beret wading through the muck with a snake in his mouth (their nickname is snake eaters) saying "I wish this would suck some more."

4th frame: Jet pilot looking down through the clouds saying "Sure sucks down there."

5th frame: Air Force airman sitting in his dorm room saying "What? Cable TV's out?! This sucks!"
