Tom's right, its still too early to make a judgement on this. On the surface, it looks terrible, a little scrawny kid coming home with snacks is gunned down by a racist, fat police groupy with a rap sheet who disobeyed direct orders from the authorities, and turned loose by a bunch of redneck racist cops, all documented by cell phone.
But who knows what really happened? The little kid in the photographs may have grown up into a big, brawny and menacing athlete, and maybe he rushed (provoked or unprovoked) a guy who was just asking him a reasonable question but which he interpreted as a threat or insult. This might even be a question of self-defense on the kid's part, not knowing who this guy was hassling him and figuring the best defense is a good offense.
We simply don't know. However, regardless of what happened, I think the cops blew the initial investigation, and left enough unanswered question to fully justify the public outrage.
