”... our war is against evil, not against Islam ..."

WASHINGTON -- AP
The Central Asian countries in Afghanistan's neighborhood are volunteering to help the United States in its campaign to drive out Osama bin Laden's terror network, Secretary of State Colin Powell says.

The former Soviet republics are "offering support in various kinds of ways," Powell said Friday as Undersecretary of State John Bolton held talks in mostly Muslim Uzbekistan, on Afghanistan's border.

Confronted with widespread suspicion among Arabs that anti-Muslim sentiment fuels the U.S. anti-terrorism drive, the Bush administration is eager for expressions of support from Arab and Muslim countries.
