Taliban Allow Aid Workers 15 Days to Prepare Defense

Eight aid workers including two Australians detained in Afghanistan on charges of preaching Christianity have been given up to 15 days to ready their defense.
Australian diplomatic authorities said yesterday the eight had appeared in a Kabul court at the weekend where the charges were read out.
"The defense now has three to 15 days to prepare their case," a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokeswoman said. "The defense counsel was due to meet with the detainees again today."
