....I have read a disturbing
news report from the September/16th/2001 edition of the "Boston Sunday Globe", pageA26.
The news story claims that Osama Bin Laden has finally succeeded in obtaining
sufficient "nuclear material" [Plutonium?...Weapons-Grade Uranium?].
But before you become alarmed, let me say this: If the news-story is confirmed, it still means "Has" Bin Laden is a long way from possessing
a functional atomic-explosive weapon.
What's more, Osama's terrorist operatives would have great difficulty
in delivering [smuggling] such a weapon
into the United States [However, European targets maybe more attractive to him now]...
My Opinion: It's more likely
that if he does possess Plutonium, his tinkerers & engineers would gring the plutonium up into fine-dust to be dispersed from
an aircraft [probably a single-engine private plane] taking off from [perhaps] an isolated
airstrip in the American Southwest, from a Florida swamp, or the Minnesota
wilds, or more likely from an airstrip
north of Minnesota in Canada.
I hope and pray I'm wrong.
Jacob.
P.S. Incidently, these latest
"non-terrorist" incidents of
a maniac overturning a Greyhound bus,
a drunken idiot shooting a hole in
the Alaska pipeline, the Anthrax scare
from Florida, are no doubt being
studied and referenced by terrorists,
both foreign & domestic.
And if there are terrorist-cell "sleepers" still at large in the USA,
what concerns me now is that some of
them may have licenses & training
to drive 18-wheeler big-rigs.
Imagine an 18-wheeler, driven by
a terrorist, packed with 40-tons of
explosives, deliberately stalled on the
Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco during "rush hour", with a few hundred cars gridlocked on the bridge's deck?
Jacob
I don't want to alarm you, but...
