Nobody, including the Taliban,
is surprised that American Green Berets & British SAS are now on the ground in Afghanistan, collecting
military intelligence, "painting" targets with lasers, sabotaging or tapping into telephone lines, etc...

But...the Germans will be sending their own Special Forces.
the French probably already have small units of [no surprisde here!] the "French Foreign Legion" deep in hostile territory.
Australia has its own SAS units, that it undoubtedly has already sent to the region.
Canada has agreed to send some of our
no-longer "top-secret" JTF special forces [probably at platoon strength]
to Afghanistan.

The Talibans, and Bin Laden's terrorists should not count on their
"guerrilla warfare" skills to save them:
Unlike in the Vietnam War, were the VC "ruled the night"; or the Soviet war in Afghanistan where & when the Mujahadeen moved freely & struck freely at night, frustrating the Soviet army
every last American SF personnel, and SAS, etc... will - have - the - finest - night-vision goggles & devices money can buy.
The Taliban clearly have a shortage of night-vision devices, a few hundred
at most. And all of inferior quality.
The result?
The SF personel will rule the night
in Afghanistan, instead of the
Taliban.
The Taliban should also fear the possibility that the British will introduce the Gurkhas to the conflict,
and that the French will unleash
the Foreign Legion at full-brigade
strength with few restrictions
on their methods of dealing with the Taliban.

Hey! An aside. It's interesting to note that the French Foreign Legion
could still take someone my age [45].
Believe me! I've been tempted.

Attencion!!! Attendez vouz!!!...Vie le gouche, vite marche!!! Gouche! Droit! Gouche! Droit!...
