Share prices closed lower on the first day of trade since the US and UK launched military strikes against Afghanistan, which triggered concerns over the prospect of the global economy, dealers said.
However, the downside was well supported by bargain hunting and gains in some high-techs after the steady NASDAQ performance overnight, they said.
