Terrorism defined.

You know, I have really been trying to be a nice guy...I really have, having apparently come perilously close to blowing all the interesting opposition off this board entirely...but it's becoming a strain. I'm drinking decaf. Taking long walks. But it's so HARD...

The people we are fighting deliberately target innocent victims. Read this article. Look at the list. Disneyland for God's sake. The Mall of America--my sister goes there. Do you see a military base on this list? A submarine harbor? An airbase? These people WANT to kill little kids. These people looked women and little kids in the eye on those airplanes and WANTED to kill them. We are dealing with poisonous insects. You don't reason with them. You don't try to find some "compromise" between them killing you and leaving you alone. You wipe them out.

Conversely, our military is trying its best NOT to destroy innocent people, even to the point of hampering our military goals.

There is NO moral equivalence, as anyone with a functioning brain can see. Stop trying to drum some up.

The fact that some innocent people are dying anyway is regrettable, but irrelevant to the issue. Imagine trying to fight WWII without killing a single non-military person. Bomb Berlin? Bomb weapons factories? Bomb death camps knowing innocent Jews and others would be killed?

If there was a magic combination Star Trek Transporter/Santa Claus Naughty Detector that could find all the Bad Guys and beam them into jail, you can bet we would be using it. The Afghan government can stop this any time it wants by grabbing the bad guys out of their holes and dropping them in our laps. And if they can't, then we need to replace them with someone who can.

The fact that protestors are trumpeting a couple of hundred (unconfirmed) civilian dead, or a grand total of four relief workers, while thousands lie buried in rotting chunks under the wreckage of the WTC, is frankly obscene.

Did you even read the article you referenced? Obviously the media are enjoying this immensely. Do you see who you are siding with? These are the same screaming imbeciles who would be out there for another dumbass reason if this one wasn't there. "Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament?" What the hell does this have to do with nuclear disarmament? Which side is most likely to use a nuke if one is available? Does anyone doubt that if the terrorists had an atomic warhead they would not have cheerfully used it to obliterate all of Manhattan? The United States has hundreds of such warheads. Have we dropped any on these bastards?

Protesters came from some 140 different groups, ranging from far-left Marxist parties to the far-right neo-Nazi NPD party.

Are these the people who are supposed to tell me how it is??

“This war threatens to spread a fire of hatred,” labor union leader Sybille Stamm told a crowd...

“It’s absolutely unacceptable that the world’s richest country bombs the world’s poorest people,” said Ann-Cathrin Jarl of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom.

We didn't start it, shitheads.

“We’re here because there are thousands of people across Britain who know that the bombing of Afghanistan is not going to put an end to terrorism,” said Carol Naughton, chairman of the anti-nuclear group. “It’s not going to bring Osama bin Laden to justice. People who commit terrorist acts must be brought to justice through international law,” she said.

So, YOU go in and get him, shithead. They sure aren't bringing him out.

“The horror of World War II makes all of us in Germany leery of war,” said Hannes Wand, a 54-year-old physician at the rally. “I’m against this war because it’s not justified, and innocent people are being killed and forced to flee their homes.”

We didn't start that one either, shithead. And we're still digging for parts of our innocent people.
