First of all, this guy doesn't exactly look like most Middle Eastern men to me. According to the FBI info, he's from the Comoros Islands near Madagascar off the coast of East Africa. Neither does this one, who happens to be from Tanzania. Also, there have been recent reports that bin Laden is helping Moslem separtists in the southern Philippines. Some of those guys are just as dangerous as anyone from the Middle East.

We have to be careful that we don't fall into the trap of "planning for the last war". Sure, all of the active participants that we know about on Sept 11th were from the Middle East. That by no means ensures those involved in the next attack will be from there. We can't develop any form of racial tunnel vision when it comes to security.

I'm not making fun of the Chinese. I'm sure they're doing what they think appropriate. It just seems to me they're taking a heavy handed approach to their security, one that really won't be effective.
