So then, even by your logic, the government would benefit by higher and more expensive gasoline sales, and they would want no part of those big-bucks spenders in the environmental lobby. They should be supporting the oil companies and the big car auto lobbies. Gasoline profits and gas tax revenues are highly correlated.
