This is not the USSR invasion
The Taliban, in having to choose to hold territory, is already in the position of defender.
They have chosen to defend heavily their airbases and other assets against our extremely well publicized incursions.
Am I the only one who sees the riddle in "well publicized" and "black ops"?
We want them to hold their assets with as much force as possible.
They make much better targets that way.
We are there to destroy the Taliban/ObL, not to conquer. The larger their concentrations, the easier to kill.
We are not fighting the kind of war the critic thinks we are fighting.
