Afghanistan's Northern Alliance fighters have called on the U.S. to bring in ground troops and liquidate the Taliban quickly.
U.S. jet fighters bombarded the Taliban Headquarters at Kandahar yesterday and struck at targets around Mazar E-Sharif in support of opposition forces pressing towards the city from the South.
The Taliban have claimed one bomb directed at Kandahar hit a bus, killing an unknown number of civilians.
