I heard something the other night about that aircraft wreckage the Taliban was showing off
I don't have a link to back up this, but according to a CBS news reporter, that wreckage came from a US helicopter that clipped a wall while evacuating the Rangers from that mission last week. It seems the chopper pilot clipped off his landing gear. That seems quite possible, and goes a long way to explaining why they didn't show video of the crash site.
I still stand by my ID of the parts as being from a Chinook. It was possibly from an MH-47E version set up to support special operations missions.
