Good evening Mr. Cheney

The soft leather seats of the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham rest my aching back. The armored NATO 7.62 grade glass has a slight distortion which could be irritating if one were driving - which I am not.

Next to me, I see Vice-President Cheney. He looks tired but alert. His red silk tie looks much like the blue Hugo Boss tie I am wearing.

"We got this oil deal - almost wrapped up." he says with a smile, "I am glad you could help persuade the Secretary General from pulling back."

We are returning from a meeting with several heads of state and the UN's Secretary General. Very productive.

"It was my pleasure, Dick - soon we will have automated oil pumps over the middle east and pipelines to take it to Timbuktu if necessary."

I lift a glass of Dom Perignon and propose a toast.

"To taking over the world."

"I'll drink to That!"

Clink. Clink.

"Don't forget me!"

Across from us in a rear facing benchseat with an 6" diameter embroidered Presidential seal next to him - is the mastermind, himself.

"It wouldn't be prudent to let that there Secretary General spoil our little plan!"

The senior Bush raises his glass and drinks deeply of the delectable drink.

"Putin, told me just yesterday he looks forward to the supply pipeline completion... and we all know he looks forward to the yearly 50 Billion check for mother Russia!"

We all laugh heartily.

I look out the window and see a homeless man on the corner. It doesn't escape Bush's eyes either.

"It's losers like that - that give the USA a bad name. Why... you can see he's able to work - heck he can stand out here for hours on end can't he? Stick a chickenhead over his ass and throw on a sign and he doesn't have to say a word! Lazy bast-rd! Probably makes 100 a day just trolling passersby."

We all laugh hysterically. The limousine driver, obviously heard too - though the intercom was supposed to off - but I can see him laughing behind the wheel.

I put my glass in the decanter and open up my laptop.

"Shall we see?"

Cheney nods and carefully sets down his own drink - mostly still filled.

"I think it is time to check if Team Justice - has secured the no.5 refinery yet."

Bush nods, still smiling broadly. Cheney opens up his own laptop - an older Toshiba Satellite - he carries everywhere, and we type in sequential satellite relayed passwords which allow us to communicate via milsat link to Afghanistan.

Cheney and I plug in our headsets and in ten seconds we are live.

"This is Oil Baron calling Sheik Bab-El-Ehr - come in Bab-El-Ehr. Over."

"Sheik Bab-El-Ehr here. Over."

"Is the field secure? Over."

"Field is mostly secure - just ten minutes now, as a matter of fact. Team is still locking down outer perimeter."

"Keep us updated. Over and out."

Cheney pulls out the jack and closes the laptop.

"Five refineries down - three to go!"

Just then we pass a group of anti-war protesters outside the White House chanting and carrying banners and placards.

"Get a life, losers." Bush whispers quietly, almost to himself as he looks out the opaquely tinted window.

"It's THOSE type of folks that let that hillbilly, moron-traitor Clinton get elected."

The driver expertly aims for a nearby gutter puddle, still remaining from yesterdays brief downpour, and a wave a filthy water splashes all over the protesters.

We all laugh, again...and are still laughing as we enter a rapidly descending secret service tunnel two blocks away.

Karen Hughes and Andrew Card are awaiting us as we get out.

Karen sees the smiles.

We put on our Trenchcoats, grab our suitcases and laptops.

"Top o' the morning gentlemen."

"indeed, indeed!" Bush replies in a now sober and public tone and warmly pats her on the back.
