The Qatar-based cable station named the four in the undated footage as Mohammed, Laden, Khaled and Hamza bin Osama bin Laden. The station said it believed the pictures of the four, who appeared to be aged between 12 and 20, were genuine.

They were were said to be with troops at a site near Ghazni where the Taliban claim a United States helicopter was shot down last Saturday. One of the soldiers was carrying a rifle scrawled with the words: "Death to Bush."

The footage also shows Mohammed with a rocket-launcher and automatic rifle. Hamza recites a poem in praise of Kabul and of Mullah Mohammed Omar, the Taliban leader, and grins while holding a piece of wreckage.

A Taliban fighter shows them a picture of US soldiers, and says in English: "Their heroes are only mythical, like Rambo, and they won't come on the land of Afghanistan." If they did, they would end up like the wreckage.
