The Northern Alliance is not only gaining ground, but also liberating ExTaliban Pashtuns(and other Afghan tribes) that, as the article points out, had no choice in joining The Taliban. This also re-inforces the fact as to why there are so many widows among the Taliban.

The U.S. is going about this the right way by standing back and letting the NA initialize the ground movement. All other countries that have offered to help should do so in the same manner. I'm more assured now that the Northern Alliance is also going about all this in the right way.

Sad article, but worth the read.
