The "editors at ENN" are blithering idiots. The entire article does not even contain the word, "nuclear," which at least you are intelligent enough to bring into the equation.

These numbskull environmentalists screaming about oil and global warming and "whatever can we do??" remind me of someone on the fourth floor of a burning building trying to weave a rope out of bedsheets while outside his window a fireman on top of a truck ladder tries desperately to get his attention.

Nuclear power plants, built using new technology and existing safety standards, combined with a fuel recycling program, would result in enough energy to last us many hundreds of years.

Of course, there is no point telling our current environmental leadership any of this, since their goals are political, not environmental*, but honest people who are really looking for answers, like you and others, may want to know.
