Protestors in America are trying to taunt the Taliban by flying kites.

They held the event after hearing how the Taliban, which has outlawed many pastimes, has reportedly banned kite-flying in Afghanistan.

The 12 enthusiasts say they'll stage a Freedom Fly protest every month until America wins the war.

American Kite-fliers Association director, Steve Santos, organised the event in New England.

He told the Providence Journal: "I don't know any other way to show support for America in such a visible way."

One of the protestors, Anne McNulty of Pennsylvania, said: "Even if the Taliban can't see our flags, God can."
