Food for thought
Read the study questions. The ones pertaining to science are phrased as follows:
I'd like you to tell me whether you think we're
spending too much money on it, too little money, or about the right
amount.
With today's deficits and the national debt, how do think a conservative would answer? The survey bases "belief" on a matter of spending.
The downward "belief in science" trend corresponds to the asymptote of federal spending.
Go figure.
Evolution? I searched the 2010 survey and found no questions about evolution. Maybe you could give it a try.
