<Since the Sept. 11 attacks, the U.S. media [read: Democratic Party] has popularized the notion that the country is in or on the brink of recession. Such hysteria is somewhat understandable, given that the destruction of the world's largest commercial space, [Two office towers out of thousands] the temporary suspension of much of the U.S. transportation network [for three days] and the evisceration of consumer and business confidence [largely due to the aforementioned "hysteria" of the U.S. media] have had a very real economic impact...

Of course, elections are also coming up next year, but that's a bit cynical of me, isn't it? Don't forget going into next November with a war that is looking like a win, too.
