Missed opportunities to smush Taliban

Allegedly we missed several opportunities to hit Taliban leadership targets while "permission" was being sought to fire. I thought we learned this lesson from Vietnam and the ill-fated hostage rescue operation micromanaged by Jimmy Carter. Guess not. I will admit that minimizing collateral damage has been a complicating factor.
