From my above post, "Former French General on Trial for Algeria Torture Crimes", the thread title is actually incorrect. He is not being tried for war crimes, or even for the torture and killing of 24 Algerian prisoners, which he will freely admit to. He was given amnesty relating to the Algerian war in 1968, so he's being tried for publishing a 'justification' for war crimes, a rarely invoked law.

I think the prosecutor will be in an uphill battle here,
