Yes, the premise is that the radioactive isotopes that are created in the nuclear reactors heat the surrounding environment, besides heating the reactor.
Since this energy is “created” or rather transmuted from potential energy (of atoms) to kinetic energy of atomic nuclei and molecules, then it is an addition to the normal energy that we receive from the sun.
These nuclear disintegrations are very energetic and long lasting, therefore the heat energy can accumulate in the environment.
If the Earth accumulates more energy than it can dissipate into space, then the globe will become warmer.
If the 53663 tonnes of uranium that is being mined in the world was all converted to kinetic energy through the nuclear process, the quantity would be approximately 0.3 times the total Solar energy hitting the Earth in 24 hours.
If such a quantity of heat energy accumulates for many years, then the Earth will become hotter.

Do you have any evidence indicating that such an event can not occur?
