Agreed

I just wish that organizations like Amnesty International would recognize that we are battling an enemy that does not think as rationally as one would expect from a well trained military force.

The Taliban fighter's poor understanding of modern military conventions, laws, etc... is exactly what is putting them at risk. Their fear of atrocities, can easily lead them to do things that would make those fears become a self-fufilling prophecy.

(When you surrender, you really shouldn't take your stash of grenades with you into the prison camp... Unless you want to be executed.)

It is the responsibility of every nation that fields an army, to train that army in more than just how to kill people and blow things up. The soldiers must be trained in the "moral" aspects of war as well. The Taliban apparently failed miserably in this regard.
