Shaving is an unnatural act, probably punishable by God.

I started shaving when I was 12. For many years, I'd wake up every morning and shave off my whiskers. The next morning, there would be more of them. Obviously, God wanted me to grow a beard. For years, I denied His will. No more.

When I got out of the Air Force the first time back in 1982, I grew a beard. When I went back in in 1985, I shaved it off. When I got out again in 1992, I grew another beard and it remains to this day. About the only reason I can see shaving is if the AOPA does the correct thing and gives me that tricked out Bonanza in their sweepstakes. It's turbonormalized and capable of flying over 20,000 feet high. I'm pretty sure a beard would be a problem with an oxygen mask.
