During an episode on the History Channel last night dealing with the Manchester/Lancaster bombers, mention was made of the British "Grand Slam" bomb, a 22,000 lb. monster dropped from the Merlin-engined Lancaster later in the war.

The "grand slam" is probably the largest "conventional" munition ever dropped by a bomber.
