Oops! Can't really 'give back' Gaza and the West Bank!
I forgot.
Israel captured Gaza from the Egyptians and the West Bank from Jordan, after years of Arab agression led to the 67 war. Israel thus can't really 'give back' what the Palestinians never really owned, in terms of national territory.
Is there any precedence for this in history? A conquering power is asked to give back lands it won in war, not to the countries it won them from, but rather to a third party terrorist organization??? Pretty odd.
