Let's sell them arms with an electronic version of an "expiry date." They have to either replace or "renew" them every so often...if we don't like the way things in a given regime are going, we cancel their account and leave them with a bunch of big, heavy, expensive paperweights.
Or arms which cannot be fired against US equipment or personnel.
Having said that--and with no idea whatsoever how to pull it off--my work here is done. :-)
ps...or maybe sell them only non-lethal weapons. Yeah, ok, this last one is maybe more than a little naive...moreso than the others, that is :-)
