According to what I've read, the man was issued a passport in Belgium 3 weeks ago.
It seems passengers are accepting their role as the last line of defense on planes. Good. This is the second incident I know about since 911 where passengers stopped someone from entering the cockpit or setting off a possible bomb. IMO, we're all better off when everyone accepts responsibility for security.
