I agree that it would have been big news. I agree that people who like Bush less would treat him harshly. What you refer to belongs on the opinion page. If you look a bit deeper into the current state of affairs I think you'll find that most anchors privately support the action in Afganistan. It is not an anchor's job to support a military action in the course of their work. (I have never seen an anchor sneer! Your rhetoric is "part of the problem".)

Dude! It was news! Do you think there is some aspect of the incident that the news media has withheld? Jeez! There were charges coming from Afganistan that we killed a bunch of good guys. Just because the news reported that does not mean the news wanted it to be true. I think that all of the subsequent info has been faithfully reported, indicating that there was confusion about which convoy was which. No? This info came out later.

Would you really want to live in a world where stories like this go unpublished? Shall we bring back the Soviet Union?

It is the goal of every political party ever created, in every country of the world, at any time in history to win as many elections as possible and to keep their opponants from doing so. To form as much public policy as possible and to limit that of their opponants. That's just what they do. If you think that this is not a Republican goal then wake up! If you realize that this is a Republican goal but post crap like this anyway... there's no way to end this sentence without being more insulting than I should, to someone I like.

As far as pro-war/pro-Bush is concerned, I am the former not the latter. However: 1) I will exercise my right to scrutinize the conduct of the war and expect all members of our democracy to do likewise,

and 2) like him or not, I support the president. If you take a look at other than the extreme left-wing crap that you guys like to link to and "squeal" about you will find that most democrats, most liberals, and most leftists (defined as anyone left of center) are anti-terrorist, anti-9/11, pro-intervention-in-Afganistan, and even pro-Bush-administration (as far as his conduct of the "war", so far). We are not the spawn of Satan (Rev. Robertson, notwithstanding). We are even starting to come around on his military tribunal idea, now that he has tempered it a bit and fleshed it out. We are on the same side on this. Can't you just enjoy it while it lasts?
