Political Correctness is so annoying because it's so unnecessary
This form of Political Correctness is due more to laziness, and misguided political agendas, than anything else.
There's plenty of genuine opportunities to champion the courage and patriotism of Americans of all diverse backgrounds. Go ahead and write a book, make a movie, build a sculpture to honor the gay man who helped lead the charge on the hijacked Flight 93, or the women and minorities who perished in the WTC, or who proudly serve their country in the war in Afghanistan, etc. In other words, why not do it truthfully?
