This whole Enron thing is totally nuts.

A company pumps campaign money into Washington, and then calls a politician for a favor (which is not delivered). Whoa! THAT'S never happened before!

Good Lord, about three-quarters of everything a politician DOES is distribute goodies to campaign contributors. What makes Enron something special?

When the airlines called their politicians, and begged for favors to save them from bankruptcy, the favors were delivered! Huge chunks of taxpayer money were shoveled into the airline companies. Huge chunks of taxpayer money were funneled to 9-11 victims as bribes to keep them from suing airline companies. Are you aware that Tom Dashle's wife, Linda, is an airline lobbyist? Where was all the indignation then?

And such favors are done for corporations by the dozens every day. Get real, folks. This is life in a mixed economy.
