Ed, you are plain wrong in your history. Publius you omitted a key fact.
Ortega was never elected. He took power in a revoluiton heavily supported by the USSR and Cuba
Well actually he was elected Ed (in 1984). And the US did not prevent a takeover - it tried to fund another coup.
Try some research before you auto-rebut.
Publius, you did neglect to mention that the Sandinistas initially seized power from Somoza in a coup (1979).
Ommission of facts could be seen as a key bias on your part.
