Even in this folksy town, the times are otherworldly.
When white powder spilled from a package addressed to "Bin Lin" earlier this month, the Post Office locked its doors. Again.
"Bin Lin" or "bin Laden." The package was sent from China, which borders Afghanistan, noted Dorchester County Sheriff's Maj. Mike Turner.
So, for the second time in as many months, Bin Lin was called to identify his mail.
"He came in, saw it and said, 'That's food,' " said clerk Conni Peters.
The powder, as it turned out, was rice, not anthrax.
Lin runs The Empire Restaurant and gets Chinese food ingredients shipped by a manufacturer.
The Post Office lobby opened again after a short delay.
