Strontium-90...boy, that brings back my childhood. We weren't supposed to eat snow because it might have "Strontium-90" in it from nuclear tests. I ate snow anyway. Maybe I was hoping to mutate into a superhero.
I'm curious: what type of equipment uses an atomic battery that in itself is hazardous to handle? Were the batteries broken open in some way? How was someone supposed to replace such a battery in its normal use?
