This is a surprising story. Mainly because of the size of the snake and the species.

The Burmese are generally considered well mannered but can be dangerous do to the fact they can reach lengths of 16' and weigh over 200lbs.

Pound for pound a snake can be considered as strong as a man and large snakes should be handle with two people.

Not meaning to sound insensitive here but the media loves this type of story (local news showing file footage of a 19 foot Reticulated python (nasty) during a story of an escaped 8 foot Boa (snugly)) and they perpetuate reptile phobias

Evidently in this case, the fear was real.

(Something still doesn't seem right)
