Supreme Court hears school vouchers case today
This case could have far-reaching implications. While both sides of the argument play politics, innocent kids are caught in the crossfire.
As for today's arguments, if it's legal to use government funding to attend religious-based colleges like Notre Dame or SMU, why wouldn't it be legal to do the same at a religious K-12 school? People have taken advantage of government programs like Pell Grants, GI Bill, and Guaranteed Student Loans to attend religious-based colleges for decades, some even earning degrees in religion to become clergymen. The argument that somehow things are different for K-12 schools are pretty specious, IMO.
