Re: So what can a poor boy do?
Individuals can make a difference, but they take heavy casualties, too.
I respect and admire them, but I do not envy them. The forces of reaction are not only powerful and ruthless, they are infinitely cruel.
Maybe I'm a coward, but I no longer feel any need to save the world. Anyway, fighting fascism on the Habitable Zone requires little courage, or cleverness. What little it demands I can afford to squander. As Billy Joel's "Angry Young Man" reminds us...
"I believe I've passed the age
Of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right."
