If I had it to do all over again, I'd study music. People say it is like mathematics, although that is not true at all. Mathematics is a self-consistent logical system. Music is a means of direct emotional communication. Language is a means of transmitting and organizing thought.
Music is to emotions as language is to thought, and mathematics is to physical reality. In that sense, they are similar, but in no other.
But I think there are great truths locked up there, that only the elect can see. They are definitely on to something.
