Le Pen is in favor of the death penalty, wants a "pure" France without immigrants and has once said "the concentration camps were a historical detail" which betrayed his antisemitism. And also, he physically hurt an opponent, which made him inelligible for several years. These are the signature of the extreme right.
Chirac is a conservative, pro-European, from De Gaulle's legacy.
